What collars can be paired with the PRO 550 Plus handheld?
The PRO 550 Plus handheld is compatible with the TT15, TT15 Mini, T5, and T5 Mini dog devices.
Is the PRO 550 Plus waterproof?
Yes, the PRO 550 Plus is waterproof. The PRO 550 Plus Transmitter has a IPX7 rating, meaning that it can withstand exposure to water up to 1 meter deep for 30 minutes. The PRO 550 Plus Transmitter also floats. The TT15 dog device has a 1ATM rating, meaning that it can withstand depths of up to 10 meters of water.
Can the PRO 550 Plus be paired with the PRO Series collars?
No, the PRO 550 Plus cannot be paired with any of the PT5, PT6, and PT10 collars.
Can the Garmin PRO 550 Plus operate the Garmin Beeper collar?
No, the Garmin PRO 550 Plus cannot operate the Garmin Beeper devices. The Garmin PRO 550 and the Garmin Delta Upland XC are the only devices that are compatible with the Garmin Beeper device.
Can I expand my PRO 550 Plus to train/track more than 1 dog?
Yes, the PRO 550 Plus can have up to 3 dog devices paired at a single time. These dog devices can be any combination of TT15, TT15 mini, T5, or T5 mini collar. The T5 and T5 mini collars will only provide tracking data, while the TT15 and TT15 mini will provide tracking and training. These are selected using the Black, Blue, and Red selection of the toggle switch near the top of the face of the transmitter.
What information does the PRO 550 Plus screen provide?
The screen of the PRO 550 Plus provides 6 data points. The two most important being the distance to currently selected dog device and direction to the currently selected dog collar device. The screen also provides an indicator as to which dog is currently selected and a movement indicator, as well as that dog device’s current battery level. Lastly, the device’s screen provides a north pointing indicator.
What is the main difference between the PRO 550 and PRO 550 Plus?
Both the PRO 550 and PRO 550 Plus share the same training features. Where they differ is the PRO 550 Plus also provides basic tracking functionality, displayed on a 1.28” diagonal screen. The PRO 550 Plus also has double the range (2 miles) of the PRO 550’s 1 mile range.
How do I calibrate the PRO 550 Plus handheld compass?
The device has a 3-axis electronic compass. You may need to calibrate the compass after using the handheld device inside a vehicle, exposing the handheld device to a magnet, or experiencing temperature changes.
- Set the intensity dial to N.
- Select the tone key.
- Select the bottom training key.
- Point the device north.
- Rotate the device as shown on the screen.
The device vibrates and displays a check mark on the screen when calibration is complete.
